Christmas Memories Empty Christmas Memories

Post by Bren on 28th November 2012, 5:19 pm

I have so many memories of Christmas. My nana always made it special. Long at the last we would have a big Christmas day meal that she would fix with plenty of good food. Me and mom try to keep that up for the 2 of us but it's not quite the same. Another memory that sticks out is that when my dad got remarried, one year they did a scavenger hunt for me. Was really a lot of fun.

What memories do you have?

My very earliest Christmas memories are the Christmas Shaker (it's a little pepper shaker filled with tiny bits of tinsel, an ensy-wesny present, a tree bead, and some mini bells). At Christmas we'd always take it out, and shake it above everyone's heads. And then I also remember my sister tricking me into thinking that she was giving me a worm for Christmas, and I believed her.

Many years on Christmas or Christmas Eve, all 20 some of my family members will gather into my grandparent's living room/dining room and sort out all the Christmas present so that soon, each grandchild will have a stack of presents with his/her name on it. When we were little, it was on "go!" that you could start ripping open all the presents, now it's more of just, "okay, you can go now..." Wink
