What do you think of Geometry?
Geometry
Well, I just started Geometry this week, and I really like it so far. I've been interested in that kinda stuff for a while. Of course, it's starting easy, but I've taken a look ahead in my book, and it looks like it will get really hard really quickly. Awesome.
So, what do you guys think about Geometry?
Personally, I'm glad to get a break from Algebra for a bit. Algebra's okay, but pretty boring after a while.

Re: Geometry
I loved doing the constructions.
There's just something that's so satisfying about being able to copy any geometrical shape exactly, by just using a straight edge, and two sticks hinged together at the end...

Re: Geometry
It had it's fun parts. I enjoyed working with the shapes. There was something that was really interesting about it. It can get hard. What I didn't like is we had classes divided into even and odd days. I had the same teacher for geometry and algebra 2. 5 days a week was a pain. Never got a break from him.
Re: Geometry
I've never taken Geometry before. My mom says its easier than Algebra, though. Does anyone know the practical uses of geometry?

Re: Geometry
I much preferred Algebra to Geometry. And the proofs are just tedious.

So far, I like Geometry mostly because it's not Algebra. I just spent two years in Algebra, so I'm tired of solving for X. In the end, though, Algebra is likely going to be more useful in the future for me.
Re: Geometry
I took 2 years of algebra, and it was the best 2 years of math I've ever taken. I loved it, mostly because it made sense.

Yeah, when someone says 2X=5, there's no arguing about it.
Re: Geometry
I really like Geometry. I'm really good at it and enjoy it way more than algebra. I'm pretty good with Algebra too but not as great as I am with Geometry.

do not mention that word around me:evil:
I mean, It's okay, but, I'm not good at it

I like it, especially the proofs.

Re: Geometry
Geometry is important. It teaches you linear thinking.

I'd rather think globally. Or not at all.capeng wrote:Geometry is important. It teaches you linear thinking.

I don't think want to take geometry.

Re: Geometry
I have not taken it yet, but from the mini-courses of geometry I have learned not to like it. I much prefer physics and algebra.

Re: Geometry
My algebra one and two books incorporated geometry throughout the textbook. For me, the two concepts are inseparable.
At first, the proofs took forever, but after doing a few dozen, I got faster.
