CC Weekly News 2/20/2010

A voice calls out "Live in thirty seconds everyone take your places!"

"Where is he? If he's not here in twenty seconds go to the backup plan till he gets here." says the director in a frantic tone.

"We're on in ten seconds." comes the voice.

"OK, get up there Melvin." says the director.

A short, member of the crew walked up and sat down at the desk.

"And we're rolling in three, two......."guy points at Melvin.

"Hey, I'm Melvin.....ummmm,.....Well Jason isn't here yet so we're gonna start the show today with, Melvin's Jokes." Began Melvin in a hesitant nervous, and shaky voice and then proceeded to tell his joke.

"Three people were visiting and viewing the Grand Canyon -- an artist, a pastor and a cowboy. As they stood on the edge of that massive abyss, each one responded with a cry of exclamation. The artist said, "Ah, what a beautiful scene to paint!" The minister cried, "What a wonderful example of the handiwork of God!" The cowboy mused, "What a terrible place to lose a cow!""

At that moment Jason walked in from off stage. The audience broke out in loud applause.
Encouraged by the fact that the audience liked his joke, Melvin began to tell another not noticing Jason.
"There were these two cows, chatting over the fence between their fields. The first cow said, "I tell you, this mad-cow-disease is really pretty scary. They say it is spreading fast; I heard it hit some cows down on the Johnson Farm." The other cow replies....."

Jason interrupted Melvin."Uh Melvin I think I'll take over from here thanks."

"Hey Welcome to CC Weekly News, I'm your host Jason. Before I get started, lets give Melvin a round of applause for his joke."

The audience applauds.

"My first piece of business, before I get into Who's New, is the possible upgrade for CC. If you haven't checked out the Where do you want CC thread.You should. It has possible options of where we could move. And there's a poll there for you to help us decide. I think we should go with option 2, but that's just me. Moving on."

This week we got two new members. Shallowmerger(from the Netherlands, is dutch learned English online) and limegreengal (she introduced herself here)

AIO Fan Blogs

This week I am going to mention a blog done by someone on this board. He is a devoted Odyssey fan, and even has a dog named Odyssey. This blog is called The AIO Fan's Life and is done by our very own Marvin D. He gets a special mention this week for promoting the board by quoting a chat in the chatbox with himself, Rodney Rathbone, and MAINE. Also another blog to check out is my own blog called Campbell County Connections. I have added some pages to it, so its not so crowded on the side. Also I added a "The People of Odyssey feature, that has interesting tidbits about some of the characters. Will add more in time. "

What is THAT?...the commercial must have been switched...BART!...

"Hey I'm back. Before I go on don't send me letters asking about the commercial. We are in no way promoting the Electric Palace and its merchandise which includes grenades and tasers. Someone (BART!!) must have switched the clips.....Anyway next up Posts.

"Today we have a special guest in the studio with us. He's a well known citizen of Odyssey and works as a mailman. He gets along great with the kids at Whits End and collects smiley meal toys. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you Wooton Bassett."
Hopefully this one will go better than last time...

Wooton walks in wearing two neon flashing Power Boy ties, one green and one orange, Audience applauds. Wooton says "Hey." then takes his seat.

Jason stares at Wooton's outfit for a couple minutes, and then continues

"Nice ties Wooton."

"Yeah, well I could't decide which to wear, so I wore both."

"So Wooton, tell us a little about yourself."

"Well, I was born in Albuquerque New Mexico, and then we moved to Alaska when I was ten. Oh I have had seven porcupines in my life time. Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marsha, Jan, Cindy and Alice."

"Okay, What are some things that you like."

"Well, I like drawing Power Boy, especially when he beats Dr Ichabodia. I like macaroni and cheese too. In fact I have a song about that wanna hear it?"

"Well I....." oh boy...

"Hit it guys, anda one anda dos."


"Wow, that was great, I love macaroni."

"Thanks, me too." replied Wooton.

"Unfortunately that's all the time we have for today. Thanks for talking with us Wooton. This is Jason with CC Weekly News signing off."

NO... Marvin is beating me in weekly posting...*goes into panic mood *

Yay! That was G-R-E-A-T! Keep up the awesome show!

Maybe if I say, "Maybe he'll interview me next week," maybe he'll interview me next week...

Maybe if I say, "He WILL interview my character, Marvin," he will!

Or maybe he has someone else in mind. You may have to just wait and see.
