Fill my cup!

Fill my cup! Empty Fill my cup!

Post by Jason on 24th June 2013, 12:53 am

So today we sang a song at church with this chorus:

Fill my cup lord
I lift it up lord
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul
Bread of heaven feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup. Fill it up and make me whole
And another song came to mind.

Red solo cup, I fill you upLet's have a party, let's have a partyI love you red solo cup, I lift you upProceed to party, proceed to party

I'm sure you noticed that the only possible connection between the two is that they talk about cups. The first talks about being filled with good and godly things; things that will quench a thirsting soul, while the second longs to quench the thirsting soul but fills the cup with things that only make it thirst for more.

We make a choice. What are we filling our cups with? Do we take the time to spend with God and let him fill our cups? Or are we putting other things in the cup instead?

Now the only thing I have left to say is that while the solo cup crowd knows how to party here and now, the lords cup crowd knows how to "party" to and a celebration will be in order when we get to that other side.

Just something I was thinking about. Very Happy
