Oolite is a really awesome game, and it sucks up my free time almost as much as Minecraft does. It's a great game for everybody, but techies will love OXPs. Oolite eXpansion Packs are just what the sound like, extensions to the game. Using OXPs, you can add ships, scripts (in JavaScript), space stations, or anything else you could want to add to the game. Here are some screenshots:
That last pic is of my ship, which is a completely custom design I made from the ground up in my 3D modelling program.
Also, the best part about Oolite is that it's 100% free. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux, too. And even old computers can run it very well.
