Up in flames
If your house was burning and you had time to grab only three things, what would they be? (assuming all your family members and pets were already safe outside)

Re: Up in flames
Three things? Okay... my two guitars and my computer backup flash drive. The flash drive is most important, followed by my acoustic guitar and then my electric.

My Mac, Alfred, my journal and my Bible.

Re: Up in flames
I'd grab my laptop, a scrapbook I made, and the Bible my parents gave me when I was 6.

Re: Up in flames
Honestly I don't really know. I have a secret box of "treasures" that I might grab, along with my laptop bag that contains all my electronics, (Laptop, Ipad, Ipod, and cords for said items). Not sure what the last thing would be. I might try to save my Bible, but I also have one on my iPad.
Whenever I hear this question I always think of George Barclay's answer. "If everyone else was safe, I'm not sure I'd care about anything else enough to purposefully rescue it." (I paraphrased). BUt that's the same idea. I mean I think my first reaction would be to get out, see if everyone's ok, if I happened to grab something it would be whatever was right nearby which would probably be a few random objects.

My Bible, my stuffed bear named Jimmy, and maybe an old photo album or something.

Re: Up in flames
I'd grab a doll, probably Vi (my first), my kindle, & my phone.
I think it's interesting how many people would grab their electronics. xD
(Also, this is my 200th post. )

Never before has so much artificial value been manifested in such a small object.God's Girl wrote:I think it's interesting how many people would grab their electronics. xD
I'd probably have listed my computer, but it's way too big to save. But, because it never moves, I don't mind. I just want that little flash drive with all my backups in case of fire.

Re: Up in flames
For me... the only thing that really truly matters to me... would probably be my letters from friends... following that.... probably my wallet (honestly, mostly because there is so much that would be difficult to replace, has anyone ever tried to get a driver's license replaced with no forms of ID? I mean, I'm sure it's doable, but... it would save a lot of hassle... And of course, my iPad, though it is replacable, it is my communication. I am insane xD
So, to summarize... I would save: My memories, my time, and my friends/family =)

One of my favorite stuffed animals, my tablet (has my bible and other stuff), and a box of special mementos from my childhood (It has old diaries, plane tickets, pictures).
My dumb phone can DIE.

Re: Up in flames
Well, we are simply deciding to save the things that 1, would be difficult to financially replace, and 2, would help us continue in our jobs. Also, computers are condensed info, so I can keep a journal on my computer, and it is basically a win-win. I get a device capable of doing TONS, and I also get to keep most of my writings, information, and a way to communicate with all the awesome people on this forum.

Re: Up in flames
Hey, I would love to save all my animals, but considering I have 60+, I just have to settle with my oldest one.Renae wrote:1) MY TWO STUFFED ANIMALS :O (I got them when I was three, k?! Don't hate )

Stuffed animals were actually the first thing thought of as well, haha!
