•Hallmark employs an 80-person research staff to analyze the sales pattern of previous Valentine’s Day.

•About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year. That’s the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas.

who cares? sure the reason behind the season is awesome but all it is now is a publicity stunt by card makers, chocolate sellers, and flower sellers to get money and that's all it is now.

Yeah my Dad is a good example of what ODH said. He likes it only for the money it gets him from all the heart shaped candy, flowers, cards etc.Some people get all ooshy mushy about it. Makes me sick!
